Each year, the average American gains 10 pounds between Halloween and New Year’s. Now is the time to solidify healthy habits and routines! First of all, always have healthy options available! It’s much more difficult to have will power when you are starving and your only option is fast food. Always carry some fruit or hunger reducing shake to help in a pinch! Trade high calorie soups for a low calorie broth such as chicken stock. Finally, count calories! It’s shocking how quickly calories can add up when you’re not playing attention! Remember to count all beverages as well! It’s very easy to drink your daily calorie allowance without even realizing it!

While it is impossible to out exercise a bad diet, fitness is very important. Many people join a gym every January and never go back despite having the best intentions. If you aren’t a gym person like I am, find something you truly enjoy doing and it will take the ‘work’ out of ‘workout’! I like unusual workouts. Amongst my favorites are Kangoo Jumps rebound shoes and Hula hoop fitness. I enjoyed hoop fitness so much that I became a Certified FXP Hoop Fitness Instructor! You can learn more about me and my fitness classes by going to www.hoopwithcori.com.

I wish you a wonderful and healthy start to the holiday season!

Sincerely,
