The recent releases of movies like “Black Panther” and “Love, Simon” have allowed different groups to see themselves represented on the big screen and in the media. It’s taken years for minority groups and the LGBTQ community to see itself represented in a way they can be proud of.
There’s always been representation of different ethnic groups in movies, TV shows and video games but those representations haven’t always been a good one. Often time the roles they play are stereotypical. For that reason, it’s a big step for audiences to see themselves in a more positive light.
