FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Featuring February 22nd, 2013:

Rise of the Animals

Art by Mario Rodriguez

Art show, fundraiser & silent auction on Friday February 22 from 6pm to 11pm.

Silo Art Space cordially invites the public to a viewing of the art works of Mario Rodriguez, an exciting young and developing artist whose depictions of animals are the focus of this nights event. The "Rise of the Animals" is a showcase of some of Mario's most recent works, serving to raise funds for his future college education and to help raise public awareness about Autism by showing some of the great creations people with Aspergers can share with us. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Autism Society of Illinois. Original framed artworks and limited high-quality prints will be available for purchase.

Mario has been drawing his style of animal art since the age of 5. In his previous exhibitions he has shown ways to define and create animals in different, yet natural settings. In "Rise of the Animals" we see the growth of his art with the animals working in harmony as they rise to new heights. Mario's art has been featured in Time Out Chicago and exhibited at Art on Armitage, with his debut solo show at Morpho Gallery in 2010. Mario is a senior at Schurz High School and his goal is to attend the premier arts/media college Tribeca Flashpoint Academy in downtown Chicago. He dreams of one day working for a company such as Pixar, Dreamworks or Disney where he can create and develop movies and art. Mario lives in Chicago with his family.

Silo Art Space's goal is to showcase art exhibits that challenge modern art in different forms, styles and design and is currently developing new community based arts programs for 2013 featuring classes, exhibitions and events.

The Autism Society of Illinois is a foundation that provides education, training and individual support to parents who may have a loved with Autism. You can find more information at: www.autismillinois.org
