Each year, South County educators bring together girls and mentors to talk about these and other tough subjects as part of a daylong celebration of Latinas. There's pan dulce and advice on finances, mariachi music and warnings about date rape.
The 16th annual Adelante Mujer South Bay Conference is scheduled for Saturday at Eastlake Middle School in Chula Vista. Adelante Mujer is Spanish for “Go Forward Woman.” The free event is open to sixth-through 12th-grade girls in South County and their mothers or guardians. READ FULL STORY
