What is your current career title or dream job?
Space Structures Engineer
Background/Education/Experience
As a first-generation Chicano engineer, I have been working as a structural analysis engineer sizing the new fuselage structure of the MQ-25 stingray development program under a very aggressive release schedule. As a 2019 mechanical engineer graduate, the learning curve at Boeing has allowed me to rapidly progress from simple door hinge fittings to highly-loaded fracture critical fuselage structure; requiring weeks of involved strength and fatigue analysis using a variety of industry standard software such as but not limited to Patran, NX Unigraphics, and StressCheck. I hope to continue utilizing my stress analysis training; sizing structure based on stiffness-governed load paths, and optimizing webs, stiffeners, and joints through internal element loads from a FEM.
