Elia Arenas, an unemployed resident of Pilsen, was searching for a clinic that provided affordable healthcare services in her neighborhood. She was referred to the UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) Women’s Community Clinic, 1858 W. 18th St., which provides annual gynecological exams, prenatal services and other family medical services.
